Can you please tell me what is the spec of > the PC you're using on that year. I really what to know it because I read > from a newsletter that Microsoft's Bill Gates have recently share his view > of PC at the time about 2017. In 2017 we can expect PCs (in whatever form they come) to have about 250 times as much of everything as now. That includes on line memory (aka RAM), mass storage and processing bandwidth. Moore's law, while originally intended to predict only transistors per IC, has done an excellent job of also predicting all of the above. Coms speeds may not follow Moore's law. Ratio = 2^(Years/1.5) here years = 2017-2004 = 13 13/1.5 = 8.125 ~=8 2^8 = 256 = multiplication factor in technology level. So thats 3GHZ x 250 = 750 Ghz 1 GB RAM x 250 = 250 GB RAM or equivalent 200 GB HDD x 250 = 50 Terrabyte mass storage Bring it on :-) ! For those who feel this is ludicrous, consider what you would have thought about today's systems in 1991 RM -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
