It can do pretty much anything you can think of, but it may be overkill for
a terminal emulator. Try to get just visualC++.NET as it is a fair bit
cheaper than the whole visual studio package (which includes interdev, j++,
foxpro, visual basic etc etc...)

As for the programming side of it, I'd recommend using the MSCOMM32.ocx
activex control that's included with visual studio. It basically handles all
the low level comms for you, and can be event or poll driven. Very easy to
use.

Can anyone tell me more about this software. I know a little C. Not a pro
but can manage to make a few things happen. I will want to make a simple
terminal emulator for pocket pc, that will do a few extra tricks. Will
VS.Net be a big help to me or am I getting over my head?
