You can look at them. It will put a nice little "spot" on the wall from a few feet away. How many do you typically need to emulate a "normal" bulb? They only say 80mcd, that actually doesn't sound like much when compared to some of the surface mount (and more expensive ones) on the following page. When running at normal full current, do you feel like "looking away" because they are too bright?
