I'll leave the code to others. I have a suggestion that will help you in the
long run: lose the cable while testing. Depending on the length there may
be transmission effects that may affect the performance of your code to the
point where the code is right, but it still doesn't work. Test with the
CF connected directly to the PIC. Once you get reading and writing worked
out, then see what happens when you add the cable inbetween.
