Some time ago I tried to insta= ll eMbedded Visual Studio 3.0 without Visual Studio 6.0 and the install failed= . The install went fine with Visual Studio 6.0. It could be that I was missi= ng some other component that Visual Studio 6.0 fixed for me. I had been looking into getting setup to do some .NET work on Pocket PC 200= 3, and I found the following step at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=3D9996B314-0364-46= 23-9EDE -0B5FBB133652&displaylang=3Den >> Install Visual Studio .NET 2003 In order to develop applications in C# or Visual Basic .NET for Pocket PC 2= 003, you must install Visual Studio .NET 2003 before installing the SDK. Pocket PC 2003 devices and the Pocket PC 2003 Emulation images already cont= ain the .NET Compact Framework. For more information on Visual Studio .NET 2003 or the .NET Compact Framewo= rk, see the: Visual Studio Home Page. << If I get some time, I'll see if I really need Visual Studio .NET 2003. The apparent need for Visual Studio .NET 2003 made me hold off until the Pocket= PC 2003 requirements became clearer. -Mike -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU] O= n Behalf Of Jay Shroff Sent: Monday, April 19, 2004 11:32 AM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [OT:]PalmOS vs Pocket PC I run the pocket pc toolset without installing visual studio 6.0 -----Original Message----- From: Ake Hedman To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Date: Mon, 19 Apr 2004 20:16:38 +0200 Subject: [OT:]PalmOS vs Pocket PC OK! I think that you can install the Pocket PC 2002 SDK without eMbedded Visual Studio, but I don't think you can use it without eMbedded V= isual Studio. I haven't tried any of the other SDKs or development tools. There's a page buried somewhere in MSDN that shows you what you need to support each Pocke= t PC version, and the correct install order. If I remember correctly there was = some version of Visual Studio associated with each platform. -Mike -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
