Random thoughts are always appreciated ;O) >But if you're that worried, how about sealing the unit in epoxy, potting >compound, etc? Planning on sealing it in ~3/16" of epoxy, encasing it in a Nerf foam football, and then covering said contraption in fiberglass or some other tough but flexible substance. BTW, for those of you familiar with aviation, this is going to be a sailplane winch launch wire tension transmitter. For the rest of you, () this means that this device will be dragged along the ground while being accelerated from 0-60 mph in 2-3 seconds and then be dropped under a small parachute from 2000 feet in the air and subsequently hit the ground at ~20 mph. The actual electronics will consist of an inline load cell, an ATTiny26 microcontroller, a small radio transmitter, and some power supply stuff.
