It's such a small thing, yet people avoid PICs altogether because of it. I've seen quite a few pieces of code that went nuts on staying in bank0, resulting in their code being far to "weird" looking. Bank switching is easy, I have a few macros that handle it for me, and most of the PIC stuff involving bank switching (except for tristating port pins) is written once and never looked at again. Do I LIKE bank switching? Not particularly.
