Hmm.  I'm not sure what DirectCD does when "closing" CD-R disks (my
last PC burner came with Nero instead, and it's direct-CD equivilent
doesn't support anything other than CD-RW, and I don't think it has a
"close in a standard format" command), but I bet you'll have much
better luck creating the CD from CD-creator (or whatever it's called
these days) instead...
