In my case we talk about 200 Celsius in the chimney. But you are still probably right that its not worth the trouble for what you get out of it. Still its a lot of energy going that way. A totally different thing. I noticed your signature "BillW" and the sender address in your mail is "William Chops Westfield". It's a total mystery to me how "William" becomes "Bill", its the same with Bill Gates etc. Can someone explain this to me, please... /Ake -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Fran: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]For William Chops Westfield Skickat: den 7 april 2004 23:16 Till: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Amne: Re: SV: [OT]: Superb low temperature differential Stirling Engine On Wednesday, Apr 7, 2004, at 03:32 US/Pacific, Russell McMahon wrote: >> Could a Stirling Engine be used on the exhaust gases from a furnice >> to produce electricity and raise the furnice efficiency. >> Note that modern furnaces are so efficient that they use plastic exhaust pipe (and not high-temp plastic, either.) Seems to me like you'd be going to a lot of trouble to gain something like 1% additional efficiency...
