Oh wow! That is... Amazing. We used tons of DHMO in the Gulf war. When we could get it anyway, = supplies were often short. It was the one thing that would really help clean the = oil smoke off the aircraft. Now that I think of it, I remember several times where there were big puddles of it and I just splashed right on through! When I went to my = rack (bed) I would not follow the recommend method of removing DHMO, and = would instead just hang up my pants... I was exposing everyone in the berth to DHMO Vapor inhalation!=20 Thanks for posting that, Russell, it's a classic. I've forwarded it to a long list of people, mostly non-technical types and "joiners of the = cause" along with the following post script: "P.s. Di (2) hydrogen Mon (1) oxide (Oxygen) (or H2O) is distributed as: Evian (Na=EFve spelled backwards), Arrowhead (para-military) and Perrier (foreign, need I say more?) and in many other products. It is also known = as Water.=20 Now, if you go back and read all the claims made above, you will see = that they are totally true. But it is still just water. If you didn't get it until now, I hope you are not offended, but if it pisses you off that you were "hoodwinked" so be it. At least you will = think twice before you throw your weight behind laws, organizations, and = social change that you don't really understand. As Mark Twain said: "...it is = like unto many of the prayers of men, in that it asks for more than he who = utters it is aware of =96 except he pause and think." http://techref.massmind.org/other/stories/mtwp I know that I, personally, have done many things, and supported many actions, that have resulted in great damage: http://techref.massmind.org/other/incompetence This is a classic spin, and worth forwarding to any teenage (mentally) = or "educated" person who sees only in black and white or tends to jump at things before they understand them." Like my Dad always told me: "If you aren't pissing off 10% of the population, your aren't doing anything worthwhile" --- James. =20 -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list = [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU] On Behalf Of Russell McMahon Sent: 2004 Apr 05, Mon 03:26 To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: [OT:] Campaign to ban Dihydrogen Monoxide http://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/dhmo.htm -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu =20 -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
