Sounds cool! Did you do a stage one install? But if you're in effect having an embedded system, I'd consider making your own distro. All you need is a kernel, a boot loader, and an init script. Yes. I'm running Gentoo on my VIA M10000 for my latest robot. I mount the source directories via NFS but everything else fits on the compact flash disks I'm using for the filesystems.
