If the final meaning of this is to set the clock on the PIC board, can't
you simply make a program that sends the date/time information from the
computer first?

The PIC, when booted, should wait for a certain amount of bytes and just
after those, start to do its normal task.

Fortunately, if those bytes doesn't start with "AT" for the modem
commands, it's ok to send them, I think.
