=20 Over here in South Africa there are hundreds of cellphone repair shops. = I took a walk in the city center of Pretoria and found about 6 of them in = 15 minutes. I just asked for a 'Nokia 3310 screen' - cheapest price I got was R50, = most expensive was R150 - guess I can even haggle the R50 down a bit. (R50 ~=3D $7.5 USD) The Nokia 6610, 3210, 5110, 6150 and some others all use the same LCD controller, but have different connectors, making it difficult to use = them in your own projects. The controller is a 'chip-on-glass' IC, which uses = a gold plated contact/connector to connect to the cellphone PCB. The 3310 = has metal pins instead of a rubber connector, which makes it a bit easier to = get wires onto it. _____ =20 Andr=E9 Miller =09 -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list = [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU] On Behalf Of David P Harris Sent: 24 March 2004 03:40 AM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [PIC:] Nokia 3310 LCD library for JAL Where are you guys buying them?
