Well it certainly supports the 18Fxxxx chips. it is the only way (currently) to get in circuit debugging. The ICD2 comes complete with a CD with the C18 compiler on it, along with all the other MPLAB software. The basic version of the ICD2 has only the ICD itself, a USB cable, and the CD. If you get the most expensive version of the ICD2 packages then you also get a Picdem 2 board which comes with an 18F452 (and a 16F877) programmed with a test program, along with an LCD, Leds etc to get programs going on test hardware.
