I dnn't know this equipment, but I've already been confused with that
extention.

Open it on a terminal / console / notepad / dos (type <file> | more) and
check:
- if it starts with  "%!PS" it is a postscript file;
- if it is a series of letters and numbers comma separated, it is
probably plotter language (HPGL for example);
- if it seems binary garbage, it must be a printable file, generated for
some specific printer;
