The dual SOIC8's made by International Rectifier are truly awesome. I
like the IR7103 and IR7324 and use them repeatedly. Generates no heat,
even at 2A. If you drive an inductive load, or connect to an outside
circuit subject to static discharge, you'll need MOV or Transorbers as
protection; zeners or clamp diodes are not fast enough!
