Try Microchips's application note AN716, "Migrating Designs from PIC16C74A/74B to PIC18C442". While it doesn't cover the 18F parts, most of the issues (such as there are) are the same as for the 18C. I found there really isn't that much to it, and the 18F parts are an absolute joy to use. I no longer use the PIC16 series at all anymore. > Now to the question that's probably going to get me severely flamed: Can >anyone suggest a PIC18F series chip to start with? I've been using the PIC18F452 (40 pin) and PIC18F252 (28 pin) a lot, and have started dabbling with the PIC18F1320 (18 pin). All are good. With the 18F1320, watch the errata sheet; there are some gotchas. HTH... Dave D. -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
