TRIMBLE actually pioneered this business for the military, and their receivers are truly the very best. Motorola is a newbie to this biz. I'm interfacing the Trimble Lassen II which provides its data in TTL RS232 (direct connection to PIC). The module is only 1.4"w x 3.2"l and only 0.3" high, including the 8P header connector. Needs a 3V battery backup to get oriented after shutdown, but I use a Lithium Vanadium Pentoxide rechargeable, so it never needs to be replaced. I'd never use anything else.
