I've been doing some web searches and haven't really come up with many.
Has anyone ever used one of these (if they exist) and created your own
radio controlled by a custom interface driven by a PIC?

I want to make a radio that has a very small footprint and I figured that
their might be an IC which will help reduce the number of parts I would
have to use.
