Yeah, the "one signal, one net" philosophy goes pretty deep in Eagle.
Pobably the easiest way to do something would be to implement ERC/DRC
overrides in parts libraries.  The "special connector part" isn't
really so bad to do, but the resulting warnings are troublesome...
