        Hmm, well here you're getting a little tricky. Usually a board can't "talk"
to another board on a PCI bus, unless you make one of them a bus master.
That certainly is possible but I think it's the more complicated solution.

        This is kinda sounding like a motion activated digital camera, or some
such, have you considered commercial options? In the long run (depending on
much your time is worth) it might be the cheaper solution.

        Have you considered perhaps a simpler bus?  You could for example go with
16bit ISA cards, FAR more simple to work with. TTYL
