Sometimes......doing a one-off design for your own use, doesnt justify doing
it, unless of course, by nature we are engineers and think.....I bet I could
do that just for fun.  Back in the day, thats how amateur radio worked.  I
digress....

My solution to this would be Ebay.  I just bought a 350W invertor for $15
including shipping.  There are bigger ones on there as well.
