One = of=20 the things the end-user actually proactively mentioned was using a batter= y=20 that would be easy to find. Since this remote will be infrequently used,= and=20 since the type 23A battery is available at Radio Shack, I'm really leanin= g=20 towards using that now, and dealing with the power loss from regulating 1= 2V=20 down to 5V.
