In my case, I did connect as shown on the datasheets, but the TSOP did no= t=20 *sustain* the output low as long as the transmitter was sending a continu= ous=20 38khz carrier. So far I had not been using a microcontroller, but just=20 sending the output to an oscilloscope. I interpreted the datasheet secti= on=20 on suitable data format as *IF* I intend to use some coding scheme, but=20 apparently it is a requirement. At this point, I've re-architected the IR section such that I will have a= new=20 sub-app that will interpret the IR signals and farm it out to the 6=20 individual units as they require. One of the transmitter buttons will=20 function to select which device I need to control, and the other will=20 set/control that device. I will now only need only one IR receiver/decod= er=20 but I'll add a single 7-seg digit to show which unit is being controlled.= =20 I've come up with a very simple coding scheme to discern one of 3 differe= nt=20 signals from the transmitter. Wish me luck... :-) Cheers, -Neil. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY! [EE]:,[OT]: ->Other [BUY]:,[AD]: ->Ads
