>>> Hi all, My linux programmer for the JDM style serial port h/w should now support 18f parts too. Tested this with 18f458 and 18f1320, but it may have bugs still. Burning PIC16F87xA config word has been fixed also. http://www.iki.fi/hyvatti/pic/picprog.html My future plans include support for compilation on Cygwin for Windows, and for multibyte writes on 16F parts which allow that. Currently all 16F parts are programmed one byte at a time, which is slower. I have tested 16F programming with 16c84, 16F628, 16F676, 12F675, 16F88, 16F876A, and 16F76, which should cover all programming algorithms. Any comments, success reports with the new version etc. are most welcome! Regards, Jaakko >>> Hi: I might give it a try. I already got one Linux programmer to modify, why not two? The question is, even though it supports all the algorithms, how hard is it to adapt to 16f648? Does it read the hex file and figure out where the code and data goes? - something my old winders programmer couldn't do, though I found one that does the 648. I think everyone should start naming their programmers with names like Jane, Atlas, whatever. I already have "picprg", "progpic2", and your's is "picprog". I'm already having a hard time remembering which is which :) - BRs, Mike -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
