Hello all,

Forgive the vague subject line and thank you for taking the time to read my
question.I am about to start educating my self on PICs and I before I invest
resources (time and money) I wanted to confirm that I want to do is possible.

I need to drive step motors in real time but do not want to tie up a computer
to do this full time. So I would like to program a pic to receive instructions
via the parallel port from a computer and step the motors accordingly. I want
to also be able to pass configuration information that will allow the fine
tuning of the motor operation.

Forgive the rather silly question ... just wanted to make sure that I have read
things right so far.
