you can generally drop the burn speed with no problems (if you are doing archival work its a good idea even if the computer is capiblle of it) 2x cd is 600kb/s or so afaikr provided the burner has a decent buffer (likley) and the computer isnt prone to freezeups (hmmm win95.... possible) then its quite possible it will be the only thing the PC can do at the time (IE dont burn and play quake (not like i have a dual Xeon 3.06 to play with MuhaHAHAA)) and it will take something like 30 mins -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of Robert Ussery Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2004 3:09 PM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [OT:] CD-RW drive w/ Win '95? >-----Original Message----- >From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU] >On Behalf Of Scott Pierce >Sent: Tuesday, March 02, 2004 8:49 PM >To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU >Subject: Re: [PICLIST] [OT:] CD-RW drive w/ Win '95? > >I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. One other issue - I think the CD burner in question requires more memory and a faster CPU than her computer has. Will the drive still function (although not necessarily at the manufacturer's speed spec.)?
