Resolution? Length? For simple experimenting and learning how such things work, look into couple year old inkjet printers. At about 600 dpi they changed from stepper driven heads to brushed motors and linear encoders for head positioning. The reader puts out a quadrature signal and I've successfuly read it with a PIC. Best of all, can't beat the price. -Denny > Does anyone know where I can get a tape scale and > encoder online and not too expensive to experiment with? > > > Thanks > > -- > http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
