i have a pc network, in which there is a notebook pc, running ms-dos.

it's network connection is over a Xircom pcmcia adapter.

when copying data to this computer over the network, I get different =
datarates, depending on the pc, initializing the data transfer:

copy direction for both examples:   win98 pc -> dos pc


copy initialized from dos pc (pulling data): about 20mbyte/minute

copy initialized from win98 pc (pushing data): about 1mbyte/minute


does anyone have an idea where the difference in datarates comes from?
