If you don't and he finds out it will give you a bad name. You could say that the unit is good for X amount of uses as a demo unit until full funds are paid. You will find the customer will usually be OK with this. If he is not, then I would be suspicious of them. To avoid the units being shipped back to have the dongle removed, perhaps you could disable it through a customer accessible serial port or keypad.
