        Actually I don't really see the need, Microchip's C compiler for 18F parts
has a 30 day demo, which supposedly isn't that strict on the 30 days... :)

        For the record, I didn't NOT go with the 452 because I didn't have a C
compile for it, I started that project about 3 years ago. Were the 18F parts
even available (i.e. could I buy them at digikey) 3 years ago? Even if they
were I didn't have a programmer to support them, so the 16F877 was really
the only choice.
