For example you could charge 2 12V batteries in parallel. 2) Have the battery bank charge the target. For 24V take the 2 12V batteries and switch them to a serial config. Presuming that you have a switcher for ou charging regulator, they can then charge the target. Note that if it's offline night charging, then you can even do this technique without the panel, using the motorhome alternator to change the battery bank instead of the solar panel. Or offer both technologies. But using a second battery at the head end will provide a lot for headroom than the boost-buck technique you were thinking about earlier.
