If the interface on th PC side is as easy as FT232BM,
the LINX device has one large advantage:
It's *much* smaller then FT232BM !
- no Xtal required
- no eeprom required
- no external resistors required
And if you add that all up, the price is about equal (or maybe even cheaper).
