BCC: a few people for interest only PICList - A friend is bidding on a "small" steam engine and wishes to arrange for it to be shipped from UK to NZ should he be successful. He is looking for someone who may be willing to arrange this at the far end. He would pay the cost involved and presumably would pay a reasonable fee for expenses should this be required. I can vouch for his honesty and ability and willingness to pay for service rendered. Quite why anyone would want t offer their services for free or nearly free to an absolute stranger on the far side of the world is a mystery, but the depths and bonds of steam engine madness run even deeper than those of PIC madness, so it's worth asking. Anyone here able and interested in rendering assistance? Replies on or off list as a desired and I'll pass anything received on to him. His message follows: > Russell, > > I am considering bidding (on Ebay) on a small steam engine (real not model) > presently located in the UK (Darlington, County Durham). > > My problem is that I would need someone in the UK who is willing and > competent to find the best/cheapest way to ship it to New Zealand, and then > to pack it (if necessary) and send it down.
