Way back when, at my first employer after college, we used to
make these little tables on the boss's whiteboard.  Once, we
rated most of the local employees on three separate criteria,
sorta to see whether we could recognize any correlation:
1) Whether they were competent
2) Whether we "liked" them.
3) Whether they were <expletive edited to> jerks...

It was interesting.  In general, we had no problems at all
liking the competent jerks.  (The incompetent jerks were
not well liked, however.)

All that stopped when a somewhat similar matrix ended up
labeling one of the female admins as "evil", and the boss
got yanked in front of HR...  Sigh.
