TTYL Hi Herbert, As I remember it was possible for the target device to send data to the PC and for hyperterm to loose it, also for the operator to type at the keyboard and for hyperterm NOT to send it. Before you ask about flow control settings let me assure you that I am very experienced in this area and the problem was with hyperterm. There were also other issues such as changes in settings not taking immediate effect (ok if you know about this quirk - PITA if you don't). Perhaps hyperterm is now usable, I will take your word for it. However given the grief it gave me I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone else.
