One other problem I came across with Hyperterminal was that it was generating a background log file that eventually filled my hard drive! No way to turn it off - just a manual delete every month or so. (I was doing a fair bit of live RS232 monitoring at the time) It seems to be version specific though as I haven't noticed it recently since an upgrade to Win2000. But, then, I don't use it much now anyway as I use "Terminal" instead. RP > >>Herbert you've been lucky up to now. The problem I see a lot is lock ups. Sometimes it > works one moment then I make a change it it's locked up (serial access > only). I've gotten in the habit that if I make a change in Hyperterm > I save it, exit Hyperterm and restart. Others in my lab have similar > experiences. I prefer to use Tera Term (although I can only get > serial 1 - 4 which isn't much of a problem). I don't know what to say. I've been using it for years and I can honestly say that it has never crashed/hung on me. TTYL -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
