There is one thing you have to keep in mind, in spite of the responses already given. No PIC comes from Microchip with a bootloader already installed. If you want to use a bootloader, you have to program it into the chip the first time using another method. When microcontrollers are advertised as having a bootloader, it usually means that a mask- programmed routine is supplied by the manufacturer within the chip.
