I think you mostly have to go to the 908 series (much faster but
upward compatible code) to get flash. I've done complex
MC68HC705C8/9 (OTP) designs- the peripherals are particularly nice and
clean. There are a few MC68HC805 parts but I think they are not
very attractive.
