I'm intending to build a digital tach for my sailboat, which has an ancient
old gas engine in it. I've built analog tachs before, using a 555 driving a
meter. The problem is a decent filter and protection circuit for the input
from the points to the PIC. Has anyone else done this for a PIC before, and
can point me to a circuit? My engine is a hundred miles away, so I can't
easily experiment right now.
