Good idea. Some level of idiot-proofing is essential, but
people have to take responsibility for what they do. Assume
nothing about common sense

The last case of this to hit me (and still makes me a little angry)
was someone bypassing the 5V regulator and applying a full
12V to the PIC in the belief "it will go better". Still baffled as to
why thinking 12V shoved up a perfectly operational circuit and
s/w would improve functionality. Needless to say, performance
was very quickly off the lower end of the curve. Clever boy took
out some tracks as well. Still, my wallet thanked him. Poor little
circuit was only a day old too, sniff, not much of a life was it
