Hi John, Do you know if this article is available online? I tried going to www.circuitcellar.com but couldn't find that specific article online (found two others from the same issue though). - See Circuit Cellar #144, July 2002, page 21: "AVR MCU-Based AC Phase Controller". The circuit shown uses an Atmel AT90S2313, but the idea can be ported to a PIC. The circuit is for 120 volt line. To adapt to 240 volts, the triac and optocoupler (MOC3009) will have to be upgraded for voltage.
