Isn't it odd that the company with the most liberal sample policy around (that I know of anyway) makes it almost impossibly difficult to actually BUY their parts. I have used a ton of Maxim parts that I obtained for free as samples but whenever I need to buy something I almost always end up substituting in other companies' parts. I really feel bad about it as I appreciate their liberal sample policy and would like to support the company but it's all but impossible to do so. I'm not sure about the parts in question but I know that for some Maxim parts, TI (apparently attempting to capitalize upon these problems with Maxim) offers pin-compatible substitutes (i.e. MAX3221).
