I now use PBP, and MCS. My development board is a regular breadboard with a MAX232 and serial port on the end. microCode Loader works just fine with this. I use a $12 Olimex JDM serial port programmer for loading the bootloader or chips that don't support a bootloader. I took a look over at the basic micro web site, why can't you use those dev boards with microCode Studio? To quote the 2840 dev board datasheet: "The RS-232 has been wired through a MAX232 for serial support. The RX, TX, CTS, and RTS are labeled on the board. Most serial communications will only need the RX and TX line. CTS and RTS are used for hardware flow control. In order to use the RS-232 port simple connect the RX and TX line (optional CTS and RTS if needed) to I/O ports of the device on-board." You won't be able to make the auto-reset feature work (no access to DTR), but microCode Loader will just prompt for a reset and wait for you to push the button. -Denny > Not really sure that this is the right sub group for this.....
