Differents options are available, with or without graphics controller, with or without touchscreen controller. The problem of the PIC is the ROM: you will need a huge eeprom or flash to stock your graphics. Finaly, a pic is efficient to control the touch panel: you need 4 I/O pins: 2 Analog ones and 2 others ones. (accepting stylus or finger touch.) If anyone has any experience with this, I would love some feedback. I've been doing a little bit of research and I narrowed it down to Resistive touch technology. It is the only type that will allow for the finger or stylus touch. I know I will need a controller to read the touch input(4-wire I think for smaller sized screens such as for a PDA sized screen.) What do I need to drive the graphics output? I'm assuming I need a controller board of some sort. What kind of processor do I need to drive the controller board? (I want to be able to show pictures, and maybe animations) I'm not sure how these controller board works. Would a PIC be sufficient? If the PIC just tells the controller board what images to read and stuff, then I think the PIC would be adequate. Do I need to get the Display and the Resistive Touch device separately? Can anyone point me to some sources where I can find these components and maybe get prices for them? I've been looking around and can't seem to find much. Please advise. Thanks.
