Depending on the OS you're using, it may be very easy to write a program
that just brings data in on the serial port and rights it to a tab delimited
text file.  Linux at least is a piece of cake.  Once you have a tab
delimited
file, Excel will import it, no problem.

I guess it's not really real time, but there you go.
