For *most* uses, such as writing apps on *nix, the GPL'ed license on the C libraries doesn't prevent you from writing proprietary applications. It's the oddball cases, such as embedded systems, where there is no dynamic linking that cause trouble. Since this is the PICLIST, we are familiar with embedded systems... -- D.
