I read in some past posts that the original ICD-1 will not work with the new MPLAB software.  But in the digikey catalog it just mentions the 18F series for the newer ICD-2. Will it work with everything below it (ie...16F87x types)?

Also what was the thread about the Picstart+ upgrade...can someone point me to that discussion?  I have a Picstart+ but i havent upgraded it for a while
