Hi,

I am a newbie. I have just installed MPLAP 6.40 for my new PICDEM 2 Plus and ICD2. I learned that there latest upgrade is available for the PICDEM 2 Plus. I have couple of questions. Hope someone who is familiar with this can help me.

(1) How do I check what version of the Firmware is loaded into my PICDEM 2 + ? From the user guide, I think mine is version 1 firmware.

(2) When we talk about upgrading, are we referring to soft-firmware upgrade or buying an IC chip from Microchip with the latest firmware laoded ?

(3) If we are referring to soft-firmware, may I know where can I download a copy ?

(4) Does my PICDEM 2 + has to be of certain hardware version to use the latest firmware ?

(5) Where can I get the upgrade instructions ?

(6) Do I really have to upgrade ?
