I use the Ramsey synthesized FM transmitter. The frequency agile unit. Around $139 in kit form (FM25B). I have used it at battlefield reenactments and broadcast what is normally coming out over the PA system. This covers the whole battlefield, parking lots and the surrounding community. To stay legal and get the most coverage, I put the transmitter at the antenna about 30 ft in the air. The antenna is a tuned vertical. I feed the audio and power up the mast from my mixer. It is heard almost 2 miles away even on a Sony walkman. I also use it at parades where the Honda Gold Wing club wanted all the same music coming out of their motorcycle radios at the same time. Can you imagine how loud 40 or so radios sounded like all turned up? Ramsey makes two cheaper models, but the frequency drifts and the audio is poorer. All units will do stereo, and run off 12 volts. http://www.ramseyelectronics.com Rick Picdude wrote: > Looking for a low-cost (say $50?, or at most $100) FM transmitter that can > transmit audio at "fairly good quality" over a distance of a couple hundred > feet.
